pathfinder club

kids 10-18 years old

The East Salem Pathfinder Club is a program for children created by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, similar to scouts.

Our Pathfinders meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings during the school year. At the Pathfinder Club meeting, young people learn skills that help them to become leaders within their communities, schools, and churches. Pathfinders regularly participate in community service, outreach events, camping and other outdoor activities.  The Pathfinder Club is built upon a grade-specific curriculum, and youth develop specialized skills in areas such as nature, arts and crafts, spiritual development, recreation, vocation, and health. Youth are welcome and encouraged to join us, regardless of religious persuasion or church affiliation.

Pathfinders is lead by dedicated volunteers, our club is all about growth, learning, and fun.  Join us as we participate in community service projects, develop important life skills, and embark on memorable adventurers.  Discover and cultivate your talents in arts, nature, recreation, spirituality, and vocational skills.  Pathfinders is not just a journey of self-discovery, but also an opportunity to deepen your connection with God.

Our Mission is to:

  • Lead each Pathfinder into a saving relationship with Jesus.
  • Disciple Pathfinders into active service and leadership for God.
  • Help Pathfinders understand that the church loves, cares for, appreciates, and need them.
  • Develop an appreciation for nature and a concern for the environment.
  • Assist Pathfinders in developing a balanced physical, mental, social, and spiritual life.
  • Teach Pathfinders skills and hobbies that will make their lives meaningful, and productive, and enjoyable.

Pathfinders earns honors designed to be a course of study that introduces a subject.  These subjects have practical value and enhance the lifestyle of the Pathfinder pursuing the honor.  There are over 400 Honors that can be earned, covering a wide variety of interests, from art to music to vocational pursuits.
